CONTROL WATER RATES

I believe that Vallecitos Water District has excelled in maintaining low water rates, even as we face significant challenges ahead. Rising prices from water wholesalers, driven by inflation, energy costs, and increased operational expenses, threaten our ability to keep rates affordable. To address this, we must adopt strategic measures. For instance, I led a successful initiative on the financial committee to restructure our investments, which resulted in an additional $4 million in revenue without placing any extra burden on our customers.

Before considering any rate increases, we must exhaust all alternative solutions. This includes a thorough review of every contract, project, and opportunity to save money and generate revenue. By prioritizing internal efficiencies and maximizing our financial strategies, we can continue to provide high-quality water services at the lowest possible cost to our community.
